Location: Travel between multiple UPMC Passavant sites, including McCandless, Cranberry, Hampton, and UPMC Passavant Wexford Spine Center

Schedule: Monday–Friday, daylight hours, with occasional off-shift, holiday, and weekend coverage as needed.

Purpose: Lead the daily operations of a multi-site Diagnostic/X-Ray department, ensuring efficient workflows, exceptional patient care, and a positive team environment. This role supervises staff, supports departmental goals, and promotes operational excellence across all imaging locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Diagnostic/X-Ray staff across multiple locations.
  • Coordinate daily workflow, staffing, and departmental operations to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  • Provide staff orientation, coaching, performance evaluations, and ongoing development.
  • Foster employee engagement, recognition, and empowerment while maintaining a strong focus on the patient experience.
  • Monitor staff performance and address concerns through timely coaching and performance management.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and enforcement of departmental policies, procedures, and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and departmental standards.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts, including interviewing and hiring decisions.
  • Support budget management by monitoring staffing and supply costs while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Oversee quality control testing, equipment performance, and regulatory documentation to ensure compliance and operational readiness.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and maintain patient care standards.
  • Stay current with advancements in radiology and imaging practices through ongoing education and professional development.

  • Associate's degree in radiologic technology preferred. 
  • 4 years of imaging experience required. 
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred. 
  • Effective analytical ability and interpersonal skills.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
    Graduate from an ARRT, RDMS, or NMTCB Accredited School. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. If working in a NY facility, you must have received certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and be Licensed through the New York State Department of Health.

     
  • ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
