Primary Function:

To manage the Outpatient Non-Invasive Lab in adherence to ASE (American Society of Echocardiography), SNMMI (Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging), SVU (Society of Vascular Ultrasound) and ICA (Intersocietal Commission for Accreditation) guidelines to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of Cardiovascular disease. Develop, organize, lead and control overall activities of the outpatients within the Laboratory.  Directs personnel, implementation and revision of policies, procedures, practice and safety standards in accordance with established clinical / administrative guidelines. To continue development of our Performance Improvement Plans supporting our Focus on Excellence.

Shift:

  • 8:00a to 4:30p

  • Located at Newark campus.

  • Will oversee all of our current Outpatient locations including our most recent locations at Aston, West Grove, and Rehoboth.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages all operational aspects of the departments including fiscal, public relations, safety (patient / staff) and including adherence to infection control measures.
  • Develops and maintains departmental philosophy, goals, polices, procedures and standards in accordance with national guidelines where applicable.
  • Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide appropriate care to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs.
  • Responsible for maintaining ICA accreditations.
  • Collaborates routinely with Co-Medical Directors to review lab QA/QC, clinical performance, patient and physician satisfaction. 
  • Possess a working knowledge of Joint Commission regulations. Monitors compliance with all rules and regulations.
  • Is responsible for cost control and preparation of operational and capital budgets.
  • Attend interdepartmental staff meetings and conduct staff meetings to communicate issues to staff and superiors.
  • Selects, orients and disciplines department staff and develops standards of performance, evaluates performance and initiates recommendations for personal actions.
  • Responsible for updating job descriptions for all employees
  • Hire personnel with the assistance of Human Resources when vacancies occur.
  • Keeps abreast of new theories and advances in Cardiac imaging. Attends continuing education opportunities to improve and maintain professional competence to maintain expertise in Non-invasive technologies. Anticipates and plans for integration of technology.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication relationships with staff and other disciplines. Is consultation available with personnel for any problem, with feedback if necessary.
  • Collaborates research opportunities where appropriate aimed to improve patient care with allocated departments.
  • Determines department’s needs financial resources and prepares personnel, supplies and capital budget for the Directors approval.
  • Delegates responsibilities as required.
  • Models / holds employees accountable to service excellence, nurtures teamwork is an active proponent of positive change.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health related, Clinical Discipline or Healthcare admin fields.
  • Registry in one of three imaging modalities (NM, Echo or Vascular).
  • 8-10 years of experience in diagnostics.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in a related field.

Special Requirements:

  • BLS Certified

This position pays between $52.97 and $72.83 based on experience.

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
