About the Role:
The Flatwork/DryFold position is essential in ensuring the efficient processing and handling of laundered textiles, primarily focusing on flatwork items such as sheets, tablecloths, and other large fabric pieces. The role involves operating specialized machinery to dry, fold, and prepare these items for distribution or further processing, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. This position requires attention to detail to identify and address any imperfections or issues with the textiles during the folding process. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a smooth workflow within the laundry or textile processing facility, supporting overall operational goals. Ultimately, this role ensures that customers receive neatly folded, clean, and ready-to-use flatwork items in a timely manner, enhancing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to operate and troubleshoot folding and drying equipment.
- Attention to detail to ensure quality control of folded textiles.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a laundry, textile processing, or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with industrial laundry equipment and safety standards.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time efficiently.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle large or heavy textile items.
- Basic computer skills for logging production data or equipment status.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor flatwork dryers and folding machines to process laundered textiles efficiently.
- Inspect textiles for stains, damage, or quality issues before and after drying and folding.
- Manually fold items when necessary to meet quality standards or accommodate special orders.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly to supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during all stages of the process.
