The Preconstruction Manager will lead preconstruction efforts from initial concept through project award. This role is responsible for developing accurate estimates, managing bid strategies, and collaborating with internal teams, clients, and partners to ensure successful project outcomes. This position offers a hybrid work schedule and requires occasional travel.

- Partner with leadership to identify project opportunities, bidding strategies, and execution plans
- Manage the bidding database and oversee preconstruction pipeline activity
- Evaluate design options and recommend cost-effective solutions based on materials, quality, and availability
- Oversee departmental functions including budgeting, staffing, and workflow management
- Lead project hand-off meetings to ensure smooth transition to construction teams
- Mentor and support development of preconstruction and project staff
- Prepare detailed estimates, cost studies, and project recommendations
- Review drawings, specifications, and pre-bid documents to define scope of work
- Incorporate historical cost data and productivity metrics into estimates
- Ensure final estimate accuracy, completeness, and alignment with margin goals
- Conduct site visits and collaborate with field teams on budgets and cost tracking
- Utilize technology and tools to improve estimating efficiency and accuracy
- Assist with contract negotiations, change orders, and project adjustments
- Provide technical support to estimators and project teams
- Participate in client presentations as needed
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams
- Promote company values, culture, and commitment to excellence
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating and/or preconstruction
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, pricing, and delivery models
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
