Job Description

Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City is hiring for an Operating Room Nurse in the CVOR. This role will give you the opportunity to circulate for various leading cardiac procedures including vascular, thoracic, open heart and heart transplants. This is a challenging position that will allow you expand your skills as an operating room nurse and learn more about forward thinking procedures. As a Magnet Designated Academic Medical center, this team is leading the way in heart care and cardiac procedures.

This position is full time days and takes call. The call response time is 30 minutes.

This is a patient centered diverse team that is focused on innovation and exceptional care. They are drivers of continuous improvement and always looking for ways to improve their skills and improve the patient experience. This team has completed 850 heart transplants, has a strong history of heart experts and works with cutting edge procedures and technologies daily.

We are looking for a team oriented registered nurse who has a strong attention to detail, is patient centered, flexible and willing to go above and beyond for their peers, patients, and patients' loved ones. To be successful in this role, you must be able to stay positive in a fast-paced, unpredictable, changing environment and the drive to do what is best for the patient at that time within your scope of practice. You will need to be confident in your skills and speak up for your patient. Strong patient advocacy is required for this position.

Functions independently and accountable for utilizing the nursing process.

Coordinates the care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team.

Delegates tasks appropriately.

Identifies hospital resources.

Serves as a clinical resource for new employees.

Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within unit or department.

Applicable Experience:
Less than 1 year

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Registered Nurse - Various

Associate Degree - Nursing
