To provide diagnostic Computed Tomography Services to inpatients, outpatients, and Emergency Department patients under the direction of the supervising radiologist in accordance with established operating procedures and clinical protocols. Qualifications

Responsibilities
-Positions patients correctly, using proper immobilization techniques-Performs optimal scans using correct technical factors, and protocols, based on the patient diagnosis, history and other relevant clinical information.-Use correct technical factors in accordance with the American College of Radiology (ACR) to use the lowest amount of radiation to get a diagnostic scan.-Follows correct CT Department Technologist workflow ( select correct scan room, identifies and documents two forms of identification on each patient, acquire history, verify orders, scan patient, send images to PACS, scan all paperwork and data sheets (eg. history sheet, med-reconciliation sheets), complete the case in Meditech, address Q A issues, charge for contrast media and supplies, Verify that all images, series and data sheets have been sent to PACS make sure the number of images is correct, verify exams with images and archive images on scanner-Initiates IV for administration of contrast media for CT in accordance with department policy and utilizing standard precautions --Prepares patient for exams by explaining procedure and by encouraging questions and answering any questions the patient may have-Refers difficult complaints or sensitive issues to department management.-Transports patients to and from departments when necessary. Assist in transfer of patients on and off the CT table. Continually monitors patient condition during CT procedure.-Provides explanation of delays for testing to patients who are waiting past their scheduled time.-Obtains and documents, confidential history (eg. lab values - GFR/Creatinine, allergy screening, surgical and dialysis history, etc), from patient, EMR or family member, to ensure the appropriateness of the exam as well as administration of contrast media-Accountable for documentation of and charging for supplies used during the performance of exams or procedures.-Documents confidential patient history to ensure appropriateness of exam and contrast media-Documents patient charge data, modifying and initiating charges as procedure modifications are made per the radiologist or ordering physician-Documents any allergic reaction, iv extravasations or unusual occurrences. Initiates incident report regarding staff or patient situations-Maintains appropriate inventory levels of supplies, notifies ordering personnel in a timely manner when supplies need to be orderedMaintains confidentiality of all patient/other information. Reports to work on time and is ready to start work. Understands and uses field of view, kVp, mAs and other adjustments and factors on the equipment in order to produce high quality images. Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation, works well with others. Perform all other job duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $35.5per hour - $61.06per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
