Proficiently performs detailed clerical work providing a variety of advanced administrative support for the Clerk of Circuit Court utilizing strong organizational and time management skills. Work is performed under general supervision. Candidate must be detail oriented, able to meet strict timelines, self-motivated, possess excellent customer service skills and possess the ability to multitask.

This listing is a summary of general duties and responsibilities: Use of Circuit Case Management System and other applicable software to scan, enter, and retrieve pertinent case information; Scan and index records with keen accuracy; Issue services of process; Manage case dockets; Assist customers in research of public records; Reconcile daily collections; May prepare court orders and case documents as needed according to Supreme Court of Virginia guidelines and state requirements; May appear in courtroom for case hearings or trials; Ensures court’s instructions are properly executed. A high level of accuracy and confidentiality is required. May perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment and demonstrated ability to utilize word-processing, worksheet analysis and desktop publishing software; Thorough knowledge of business English and ability to type various correspondence and assume responsibility for correct spelling, punctuation and format; Ability to relate to and knowledgably deal with the general public, staff, attorneys, judges and government agencies both orally and in writing, tactfully and in a professional and efficient manner; Ability to work under pressure; Ability to establish priorities for completing assignments and meeting critical Court deadlines and work with a minimum of supervision.
Education and experience equivalent to an associate degree in the legal or business field or any equivalent combination of office experience and training that provides the required knowledge. Prior legal or court experience preferred.
