Job Details
We are seeking an Assistant Controller to lead our accounting operations and establish strong processes as we continue to scale. In this hands-on role, you’ll oversee the monthly close, billing, accounts payable/receivable, and other core accounting functions to ensure accuracy and consistency across the business. You will work closely with the VP of Finance and leadership team, playing a critical role in building the foundation of our finance function and offering a clear path for career growth into a Controller role.
To thrive in this role, you should bring a strong accounting background with experience in B2B SaaS or high-growth technology companies. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, and a CPA is strongly preferred. This position reports directly to the VP of Finance and offers high visibility across the organization, including regular interaction with company leadership and external stakeholders.
What You'll Do
Own core accounting operations — lead the monthly close, prepare reconciliations, and manage AP, AR, billing, and payroll to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Strengthen processes and controls — establish scalable accounting policies, implement best practices, and maintain compliance across reporting, tax, and audit requirements.
Be hands-on and solutions-oriented — roll up your sleeves to execute journal entries, billing runs, and reconciliations while driving improvements in systems and workflows.
Partner with finance leadership — collaborate closely with the VP of Finance on building a best-in-class finance function, providing accurate data and insight to support decision-making and long-term growth.
What We're Looking For
CPA license and/or bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with 3–8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong accounting foundation with experience in core processes such as monthly close, reconciliations, billing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial regulations, and compliance requirements, including ASC 606.
Experience in SaaS or technology businesses, ideally PE-backed or high-growth.
Exposure to external audits and M&A integration, with the ability to prepare audit-ready financials and support post-deal accounting work.
Familiarity with modern finance tools such as QuickBooks, Stripe, Ramp, and Carta, with the ability to adapt quickly to new ERP platforms.
Hands-on and detail-oriented, comfortable rolling up your sleeves in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Clear communicator who can work cross-functionally and build trust with leadership, auditors, and external partners.

5 Questions You Should Ask During the Interview
Here are 5 questions we think you could ask during your interview. Use them as a guide to help you write your own questions.
Remember: Always have at least 5 questions prepared for the interview. If you do not, you run the risk of looking unprepared.
What does success look like in this role, and how is it measured?
Why ask this? You want to ensure you have a clear understanding of expectations before accepting the role. Knowing how success is measured helps you hit the ground running and avoid surprises about performance evaluations. It also signals to the employer that you're results-driven.
Can you describe the team dynamic and the company culture?
Why ask this? Skills and experience matter, but if the work environment isn’t a good fit, you won’t be happy or productive. This question helps you gauge whether the company values collaboration, how teams interact, and whether the culture aligns with your work style and values.
What are the biggest challenges facing the person in this role right now?
Why ask this? Every job has challenges, and it’s better to know them upfront. This helps you assess whether the role is a good fit for your strengths and whether the company is realistic about its expectations. If they hesitate to answer, it could be a red flag.
How does the company support work-life balance and employee well-being??
Why ask this? Burnout is real, and some companies expect employees to sacrifice personal time for the job. By asking this, you’ll get a sense of how they value work-life balance, flexibility, and well-being—things that are crucial for job satisfaction and long-term success.
These questions help you make an informed decision while also showing your professionalism and strategic thinking!
