Job Description Summary:
This role oversees technical operations to ensure accurate patient test results, manages quality assurance and regulatory compliance, trains staff, and implements new instruments and methods.
Responsibilities And Duties:
40% Independently conducts advanced analyses of body fluids and tissues. Assesses the accuracy of all analytical data before results are released for patient diagnosis and treatment purposes. Interprets information by applying judgment and making decisions based on technical procedures and instrumentation. Possesses an understanding of how to correlate medical data, recognize links between various laboratory parameters, consider physiological influences, and understand how different medications and treatments may impact results.
30% Develops and reviews quality control measures, examines peer data, and participates in proficiency testing. Troubleshoots issues by analyzing complex information. Validates methods and ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory activities.
15% Engages in ongoing education and competency development to stay updated within the field. Provides training for new team members and students, fulfilling competency and mandatory educational requirements. Communicates updates and offers clinical guidance and leadership to colleagues.
10% Keeps quality control and instrument records in accordance with accrediting agency standards, ensuring documentation is readily available to all technical staff and inspectors.
5% Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related science field with ASCP (or equivalent AMT) certification required within two years of hire. Minimum two years’ experience in patient care or clinical laboratory settings.
