Job Purpose

The BI and Data Science team at American Honda Motor is on the mission to design, develop, and deploy BI/AI / ML solutions aligned with our 2030 vision where data is at the core of everything. This role plays a critical part in advancing enterprise reporting, advanced analytics, and AI/ML capabilities, while ensuring alignment with governance, scalability, and business value. The selected associate will collaborate closely with business units, IT, and global teams to deliver impactful insights and innovative solutions.

Key Accountabilities

Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and semantic models (e.g., Power BI, Qlik)
- Translate business requirements into scalable and performant BI solutions
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with enterprise KPIs
- Optimize report and data model performance

Data Science & Advanced Analytics
- Develop predictive and analytical models to support business decision-making
- Perform data exploration, feature engineering, and statistical analysis
- Deliver actionable insights to improve operations and strategy
- Support development and scaling of analytics use cases

AI / Machine Learning Enablement
- Build and support AI/ML solutions (forecasting, classification, NLP, etc.)
- Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise reporting platforms
- Evaluate emerging AI tools and contribute to innovation initiatives
- Support responsible AI practices, including model explainability and governance

Data Platform & Integration
- Work with data engineering teams to consume and integrate data pipelines
- Support data modeling, transformation, and architecture best practices
- Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Fabric, AWS) for scalable solutions

Governance & Standards
- Follow data governance, security, and RBAC policies.
- Contribute to BI/AI standards and reusable templates.
- Document solutions and support compliance requirements.
- Support BI administration, capacity monitoring, and quality reporting.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

-BS in Technical discipline such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, and Engineering
- 1+ years’ experience in Business Intelligence, AI, & ML
- 1+ years in scripting language (ex. Python, SQL)
- Strong knowledge of data structures (structured/unstructured) and data modelling
- IT technology and operations experience to maintain/upgrade the software/hardware, job monitoring, infrastructure knowledge, and operating systems’ know-how.

Skills
- 1+ years’ experience in Business Intelligence (BI), Artificial Intelligence (AI), & Machine Learning (ML)
- Some experience in BI tools like Power BI, Qlik and SAP Business Objects.
- Basic understanding of data models, data marts, and data concepts
- Some experience in data analysis, wrangling, validation, and data cleansing.
- Basic knowledge in Data Sciences area including ML models, algorithms, data wrangling, Data Ops etc.
- Basic experience with SQL or database platforms like MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL etc.
- Basic knowledge of cloud-based technology including cloud connectivity options, data storage options (S3, Glacier), data lakes (S3 etc.), master data management, data cataloguing, cloud warehouses (Redshift, etc.), cloud ETL/ELT tools, cloud databases (RDS, DynamoDB etc.), and cloud/on-prem BI products (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

-Some experience in scripting languages like R, Python, SQL, Julia
- Basic IT technology and operations experience to maintain/upgrade the software/hardware, jobs monitoring, servers/infrastructure, and operating systems.

Activities
- Project level development & support of BI/AI/ML technologies
- Operational support of BI/AI/ML tools including platform availability, model monitoring, release management etc.
- Building new BI/AI/ML models/reports, maintaining model accuracy and model enhancements.

Working Conditions

On site working environment with limited Travel as required for regional support. Overtime as needed. (Example: Weekend change implementation and testing)
